Why should I train Muay Thai?
This simple answer is because it’s the greatest hobby in the world. Not scuba diving, not stamp collecting, not Fortnite. No. It’s Muay Thai.
Cool shorts. Flying knee attacks. Soul crushing workouts… we could list 16,853 reasons why you should train Muay Thai, but we won’t do that. Let’s stick to our top 3:
Reason #1: You want to get into the best shape of your life.
Are you tired of just lifting things up and then putting them back down? Yeah, us too. Weights are boring. Treadmills suck. Imagine WANTING to go to the gym… working out with the intensity of a fist fight, the mental engagement of a chess game, and the dynamism of a Salsa Dance. Take your normal fitness routine, multiply it by 5, then cover it in jet fuel and set it on fire— That’s a Muay Thai workout.
Reason #2: You want to be able to defend yourself.
There’s a ridiculous sense of confidence that comes from knowing you can beat up anyone else in the room. Train in Muay Thai and all of that confidence becomes yours. You’ll walk around feeling the like leader of a one-person wolf-pack. But instead of a normal wolf, you’ll be a ninja wolf who roundhouse kicks bad guys and howls at the moon just because you feel like it. Start becoming the hero you know you are.
Reason #3: You want to be part of something bigger than yourself.
Muay Thai gyms are magical. Week after week you are going to be surrounded by the most motivated, dedicated, and craziest people preparing to play one of the most dangerous games in the world. And even if you don’t train to compete yourself, YOU become a part of their process. Doing absurdly hard things with incredibly high stakes forms bonds between people like few other things can.
And there we have it. The truth is, most of life’s conflicts can be solved by doing Muay Thai. From love and politics to finances and health problems, we’re pretty sure you’ll forget about all of that stuff once someone tries punching you in the face (respectfully, of course).
